"Come as living stones, and let yourselves be used in building the spiritual temple..." 1 Peter 2:5 GNT
Peter describes the people of the church as living stones. Wanting to do a painting on this idea, I found inspiration for the design and colors on a polished stone my parents gave me. Images of fish appeared in the underpainting. Fish fit the theme since the fish was a Christian symbol in the early church and continues to be used today as a symbol for Christ.
In this painting, I am reminded of all the blessings that God provides through the gift of Christ and the Christian church. As a community of believers in Christ we can be living stones, which gives purpose and meaning to our lives.
