Barbara Nelson's passion is to give glory to God while exploring themes such as hope, joy and blessings by experimenting with a variety of media and styles. Her husband, Lowell, helps in many ways with the presentation.
ABOUT BARBARA NELSON:
Barbara and Lowell moved to Kansas City from Minneapolis, MN to be near family. She was blessed to received numerous awards and honors in juried and invitational art shows in Minneapolis.
With a love for art, Barbara earned a B.A. degree in art from Concordia College, Moorhead, MN, and worked on an M.A. degree in design at the University of Wisconsin, Stout. In addition, she studied at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, the University of Minnesota, and the University of Oslo, Norway.
She is a member of the international organization, CIVA (Christians in the Visual Arts) and is involved in Sketch Box (a committee of the Kansas City Art Institute), National Museum of Women in the Arts, Resurrection Art Guild, KC Senior Arts Council, and recently she became a member of the KC Art Coalition.
